How to succeed in Japan (personal)

How to succeed as an individual in Japan !
Not to become extremely rich but more how to get in Japan, get "integrate" and enjoy the life here with a regular job (not a teacher job).
You have to know that japanese care a lot about the society opinion, everything will be done regards what the society will say.

1) you need to learn Japanese, written and spoken.
You have to know first that 90% of Japanese don't speak English.

2) you need a proper working visa (spouse visa, working visa, working holiday)

3) you need to be clear with your job target. In Japan every person as his own role, you need to fill a role that does exist in the society.

4) you need experience in the job you are targeting, japanese don't like to take risk, they will not give you a chance if you don't have any experience !

5) respect the rule of Japanese society, older you are more knowledgeable you are (supposely) ! even they are wrong you have no choice to respect it !

6) Some order from your boss will be sometimes incoherent, but if they have been working that way for many year, that's the way it is. don't discuss an order from the boss directly. wait till the end of the day and make it discretely. never in front of other employee. no confrontation !

7) Don't expect to finish you work at the time stipulate in your contract. if you have a lot of job, you stay late.

8) And very important !!! in Japan not everything has a reason ! sometimes things seems ridiculous, but they have been working that way for many years, they won't change it.

The Japanese society is very old, the way they processing the information is quiet slow and sometimes painful, but hey, they the second strongest economy in the world, I still don't understand why ! hehe

The fake idea about Japan

I've been living now for more than a year in Japan, my wife is Japanese, I work in a Japanese company, so I believe I'm deeply into the Japanese life !

Many people in the world are amazed with this country, the first thought that comes when you talk about Japan is TECHNOLOGY, hahahaha ! I'm sorry this word make me always laugh !

TECHNOLOGY: interesting concept that unfortunately Japaneses don't really understand !
You probably think I'm crazy to tell that technology doesn't represent Japan but if you come here you will understand fast what I mean.

I agree that most of the amazing electronic stuff comes from Japan ! the problem is that inside the houses, people don't use it ! You will probably see more Japanese electronics outside Japan. Also when you think about it ! Apple is American, they put on the market the most advanced technology, they really change the way people think ! (yes I love apple).

The main problem of Japaneses electronic company is that they scare of taking any risk, especially in Japan ! also the lifestyle in Japan is way different that European or north American lifestyle !

If you believe that mobile are more advanced here that other part of the world ! you will be surprise, yes you can see hd TV on a mini screen, yes you can chat in the mobile ! but they still have the same concept, SMALL and Portable !
In Europe we use the phone to call or organize ourself, in Japanese they use it to play or chat, they don't call often, the talking plans are very low compare to text messaging plan !

Anyway... I love Japan but certainly not for technology !

Finally Ready

Hi reader,
It's funny how things in life can start !
I always wanted to start a blog and be able to write something, but I always felt that I was a bad writer (Actually I still believe I am) and always felt that I was incappable of doing it !
But today I was at work and I watched this video about Dorian "Doc" Paskovitz, this Jewish doctor from california that abondon everything for a utopian dream life with his family, that video gave me so much energy that I decide to write from today about my thoughts and other amazing things that I discover everyday in my life !

By the way, my name is Daniel (Dany) Kwintner, I'm a jewish guy, born in Belgium, that lived in Canada for 7 years and decide to move to Japan to fullfil my life with a wonderfull japanese woman !
I'm an Art Director that design, create or let say just enjoy beauty of everything !

Please don't pay too much attention to my writting style, it is easier for me to express myself through design than through words.

My only goal will be to share with you my discovery and reflexion about life and beauty; and sometimes stupidity.
